He loves nonprofit work, has extensive experience in all aspects of it after nearly a decade of being an executive director, and thinks nonprofit professionals are amazing and brilliant and good-looking. Kurt Aschermann has almost 40 years’ experience as a marketing and resource development professional. Before retirement he served as Chief Marketing and Development Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where he supervised a staff that managed BGCA’s fund raising and marketing operations nation-wide. There he created and implemented a fund raising strategy for the organization that saw national revenue go from $350 million to $1.2 billion in a little over ten years. Relationships with major corporations, foundations and individuals resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars raised for the organization and unprecedented awareness for the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement. Besides helping to establish BGCA as the Official Charity of Major League Baseball, Aschermann guided the organization to forge national partnerships with the National Football League, National Basketball Association, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and many other international corporations.

Aschermann was the architect for BGCAs National Board of Governors reorganization plan in the early 90’s and he managed the organization’s relationships with various high profile spokespersons like Denzel Washington, Anna Kournikova, Shaquille O’Neal, Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr. In 2006 Aschermann packaged and helped produce Washington’s first book, A Hand to Guide Me.

Based in Virginia, Aschermann operates a consulting firm called KA6CONSULTING that provides services to a limited number of nonprofits and companies. He also continues to conduct retreats, workshops/breakout sessions and keynotes for nonprofits on marketing/branding, team building and management, board development, fund raising and cause related marketing.

Hillary Bardwell has significant experience in student mentoring and community partnerships. As Director, Foundation Grants at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, she spearheads several LGBTQ youth mentoring grant projects, hosts LGBTQQ sensitivity training webinars, and organizes initiatives including a highly active Community of Practice forum for discussion, resources and peer sharing. Previously, Ms. Bardwell launched career workshops for public policy students; mentoring programs for special populations including LGBTQ, international, and high-achiever minority students at Rutgers University. She championed a first-time in college student/alumni mentoring program at the Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy at Rutgers University; designed and taught programming for Rutgers’ first-year students in transition to college; and created college preparatory presentations in partnership with several school districts in southwest Florida, which included a mentoring program component for middle and high school students while at the University of South Florida. Her programs have served as models for peer institutions. She has been a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County, NJ for over 6 years.

Bryan is a native of San Diego, but his parents fled the war in Iraq in the 1980s and were resettled in the United States. He is actively involved in Chaldean religious and community life. Jovan C. Bowles has worked professionally in development for the last fifteen years. A Los Angeles native and graduate of Hampton University in Virginia, Jovan found himself in Washington, D.C. after undergrad for many years working on the development team for organizations like the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, and the Ummah Endowment Fund. For the last five years since returning to Los Angeles in 2008, Jovan worked in development at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), raising over $3.5 million annually toward a total $8 million budget through corporate partnerships, major gifts, and events. Benna Cail’s experience spans over 25 years in positive youth development through physical activity and sports as a physical educator, youth sports director, and currently as Senior Director of Outreach Programs for The First Tee home office. Benna oversees curriculum and training design and development for The First Tee National School ProgramandThe First Tee DRIVEprogram – two national golf, character and health education programs designed for elementary schools and after-school youth agencies, respectively. Launched in 2003, she authored the original curriculum and professional development training for the National School Program that is now being utilized in over 8,000 schools impacting more than 4 million students. The First Tee’s after-school initiative, The First Tee DRIVE, launched in 2012 and is now offered in over 1,000 after-school locations. Alexandria Clinger currently serves as a Community Development Coordinator at BBBS of Northeast Indiana. A graduate of Ball State University, Clinger earned her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication. This degree focuses on informing, persuading, and promoting goodwill to larger groups. While at Big Brothers Big Sisters, she has managed numerous campaigns and focuses on recruitment.

One of Clinger’s most successful campaigns was the Minority Reengagement Campaign. In just 50 days, 76% of minority recruits became volunteers, donors, and ambassadors for Big Brothers Big Sisters. She continues to strive to enrich the community with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the mission it serves. She has high energy for driving customer satisfaction and developing relationships by using outstanding organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

Clinger’s driving passion is to help underprivileged youth. Growing up without a mother, she understands the need to have a female role model in her life. She currently is a Big Sister to her Little Sister Jamorrah. The pair likes to color, paint nails, and sing at the top of their lungs. Clinger also is involved with Teach on the Beach, a nonprofit teaching organization based out of Ghana, West Africa. She helped create a positive learning environment for students who did not have the privilege to attend school every day. When Clinger isn’t busy out in the community recruiting volunteers, you will find her at home snuggled with her dog Maggie watching her favorite TV show.

He has a Ph.D in political science from The Ohio State University and is a research methodologist with training in qualitative and quantitative research methods.He both domestically and internationally on evaluations of drug treatment programs, mentoring and other positive youth development interventions, substance abuse prevention programs, and education programs. Dr. Courser has led multiple mentoring research projects funded by OJJDP.His work has included a multisite evaluation of mentoring as an intervention for system-involved youth, and developmental evaluation of an intergenerational mentoring program.He also served as the Principal Investigator of an OJJDP-funded project (implemented in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana) that assessed the impact of mentor training on mentoring program outcomes.He currently serves as Principal Investigator of an OJJDP-funded project that is investigating the impact of parental engagement, parenting styles, and family dynamics on mentoring program outcomes.

Katie Davis has a Masters in Nonprofit Management from the University of Missouri and has worked in the nonprofit field her entire career. As CEO, she led Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks to success adapting the open book management philosophies found in the book, The Great Game of Business. After one year of full implementation, the agency exceeded $1 million in revenue, which was a 22% increase over the previous year, expanded services by 17%, and received recognition locally and nationwide. This recognition included being awarded the 2015 mid-size Agency of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and receiving the Pioneer Award at the 2016 Gathering of the Games. After nine years (six as CEO) at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, Katie stepped down in September of 2016. Stephanie Dinnen-Reini is an experienced grant writer, with nearly ten years prospecting and writing successful federal, private and corporate foundation grant proposals. Stephanie joined the staff in 2013 as a grant writer and quickly promoted to the role of Senior Manager within the development department. In 2016 she ascended to Director of Institutional Development overseeing all fund development, strategic new program development, and stewardship. Stephanie is a trained gerontologist, specializing in trauma and mental health care for older adult populations. Pam Iorio is the President/CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the country’s oldest and most effective mentoring organization, leading the organization since March 31, 2014.

Iorio, the former two-term Mayor of Tampa, Florida, successfully led the 54th largest city in the United States, leaving office in 2011 with a remarkable 87 percent approval rating. First elected in 2003, Iorio’s tenure was marked by a revitalized downtown, massive investment in infrastructure, redevelopment throughout the city, unprecedented reduction in crime, commitment to the arts and fiscal soundness, with financial reserves tripling even during a recession.

First elected to public office at age 26, Iorio was the youngest person ever to win a seat on the Board of County Commissioners for Hillsborough County, Florida. In 1992 she was elected for the first of three terms as the county’s Supervisor of Elections. In 1999 she served as the president of the State Association of Supervisors of Elections, where she served as spokesperson for the organization during the highly publicized 2000 presidential election in Florida.

In 2012, after three decades in public life Iorio authored a leadership book, "Straightforward, Ways to Live and Lead" and helped organizations build strong and effective leaders as a keynote speaker. She also served as the Leader-in-Residence at the John H. Sykes College of Business at the University of Tampa. In 2012, Iorio was asked to serve as the interim CEO of The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County after the agency went through significant leadership challenges. She served in that capacity until July 2013, setting the agency on a positive course and assisting in the selection of a new Executive Director.

Iorio graduated from The American University in Washington, D.C. with a B.S. degree in Political Science. She holds a Master’s degree in History from the University of South Florida. She is married with two children.

Jolynn Kenney is the Vice President of Programs with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound. She became a volunteer Big Sister in 1999 and her experience as a mentor inspired her to share mentoring with thousands of other people. After earning a M.Ed. in Counseling in 2005 from Wichita State University, she relocated to the Pacific Northwest and joined the local agency as staff. Jolynn is passionate about racial equity and justice issues and she works diligently to ensure young people have opportunities. Her areas of expertise include data and program evaluation, making Excel do what she wants, match support best practices, and child safety related issues and practices. Abby Lathrop, Chief Program Officer, joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands in 2003. She became the Chief Program Officer in 2008 after holding several other positions within the agency including Associate Program Director and Partnership Coordinator. As the Chief Program Officer, Abby is responsible for supervising program staff that recruit, interview, screen, and train potential mentors. She also oversees the collection and reporting of data for our various programs. Abby received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a certified trainer in the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets. She received her Program Manager certification from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in 2009. Abby works closely with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program staff on pilot initiatives our agency has been selected to participate in, including Enhanced School Based Mentoring, Hispanic Leadership Network, Strength of Relationship Survey, Program Outcome Measures, and most recently STEM and the PERL Project (Promoting Enhanced Resilience and Learning). LAURA LIZER is widely recognized for her many professional, philanthropic and personal achievements. She leads by example and touches peoples’ lives with her generosity and compassion. For over 20 years, Laura has been sole owner and president of Laura Lizer and Associates, a financial management firm for entertainment industry professionals. Managing both legendary veterans including Dean Martin, Shirley MacClaine and Sidney Poitier and new industry leaders alike, she currently handles assets worth over $1 billion. Laura is the Trustee of the Dean Martin Family Trust. She has been profiled in “Money” magazine, and among others, “Los Angeles Magazine”, which called her, “One of the top five financial gurus in Los Angeles.”

Outside the boardroom, Laura has been deeply committed to her many volunteer efforts. Among them, she served as president of the Women in Business Foundation, and for eight years she worked with the Osmond Foundation, helping to raise over $100 million for the Children’s Miracle Network and the pediatric hospitals they fund. Children’s charities have continued to be at the top of Laura’s agenda. In 2004, after the passing of her mentor, Mort Viner, Laura founded the Mort Viner Scholarship Fund at Temple Israel of Hollywood, which is dedicated to assisting children of single parents. In addition, she is a long-time board member and past treasurer of SHARE, an organization that raises funds for programs and research benefiting developmentally disabled children. She also has been actively involved with the Summa Children’s Foundation and was honored with their Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her philanthropic efforts to positively impact the lives of young people in our community .

In 2008, Laura joined the Guild of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. In 2010, she was selected to join the agency’s prestigious Board of Directors. Laura is currently serving as Board Chair.

At the heart of Laura’s humanity is her family: her husband Rob Word, a well-known entertainment executive and producer, and their 19-year-old son, Robby. They are her constant source of inspiration, and share her vision to make a difference in the lives of others.

Tim Midkiff joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of America as controller in December 2013. In September 2014, he assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Tim oversees Information Technology, Grant Compliance and Quality Assurance, Payroll, Internal Audit, Annual Audit, Building Maintenance, and BBBSA Foundation.

Tim previously served as the controller for American Lung Association of the Plains-Gulf Region. While at American Lung Association he lead in consecutive years of successful annual federal audits, managed grants from varying federal agencies as well as lead in several mergers.

Prior to joining American Lung Association, Tim served as the controller for Family Gateway. Tim comes from a background of business ownership where he successfully led the company from start-up to expansion to multiple locations.

Eunice Lin Nichols is a Vice President at Encore.org where she leads Generation to Generation, a 5-year campaign to mobilize one million adults 50+ to help kids thrive. Previously, she ran The Purpose Prize (now a program of AARP), which has awarded over $5 million in prizes to nearly 100 social entrepreneurs over the age of 60 since 2006. She also spearheaded the development of a new prize focused on organizational encore innovation. Previously, Eunice spent 11 years leading a portfolio of statewide programs to expand the social contributions of older adults in California. She scaled Experience Corps (now a program of the AARP Foundation) in San Francisco from a pilot project into an award-winning intergenerational program, engaging hundreds of older adults as tutors and mentors to more than 3,000 students in Bay Area schools. She also placed encore career-seekers in direct service, coordination and executive-level roles in 20 after school programs and other youth serving organizations. Julie Novak joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in 2004. As associate vice president of child safety, she serves as a leading expert and national spokesperson on child safety and youth protection. Novak leads the nationwide advancement of effective child abuse prevention and crisis response strategies and works collaboratively with other national experts from organizations including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Crimes Against Children Research Center, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Nonprofit Risk Management Center and law enforcement. Novak develops and provides statewide training on issues including abuse of children, violence prevention and crisis management. She currently serves as a member of the National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation, LexisNexis’ Advisory Board and the NCMEC Youth Online Working Safety Group. Novak has received professional training in the areas of child abuse, exploitation, violence prevention and risk management. Prior to joining BBBSA she served as CEO of Big Brother Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin for 11 years where she expanded the organization’s service to children by more than 400 percent. She graduated from the University of Iowa and served for three years as a sexual assault and domestic violence victims’ advocate.

Brian O’ Connor started his career in advertising before shifting to journalism where he was a reporter in New York City. Now, he uses that media know how to craft national and international violence prevention campaigns for Futures Without Violence, which have also been locally adopted in over 75 communities around the world.

Brian’s experience in motivating diverse audiences is vast, having partnered with countless institutions and agencies such as UNICEF, the University of California, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the US Dept. of Justice. From orchestrating cause marketing events for corporate leaders like Macy’s and Verizon to publishing articles in both popular and academic publications, his leadership has inspired people from all walks of life to denounce violence against women in the US and around the world. Brian holds Bachelor’s degrees in marketing and Spanish from Georgetown and a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and former Chairman of the Board of Root Division, an arts education non-profit in San Francisco, where he lives.

Katie Orlando lives the dream every day as the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa. This is Katie’s 7th year in the BBBS network; she quickly climbed up the later after switching from an inspiring career in Higher Education and Student Affairs in the Northeast to an entry-level Match Support Specialist at BBBS of Mid-Maine, and she hasn’t looked back. Katie is currently in her fourth year on the SMAA Steering Committee and her second year on the NLC Brand Standards Committee. She formally and informally mentors several fellow agency leaders, program staff and board members from across the country. Since Katie’s arrival to Iowa, her agency has received the Quality Award, Gold Standard Award, SMAA Board of the Year, and now the Pinnacle Standard Award. Her agency is also Iowa's Nonprofit of the Year. In 2016 she led her agency through a 41% growth of youth served while opening offices in three new counties and expanding offices in two others. In her free time Katie enjoys volunteering and has made her new community her home. She is on the boards of the local Volunteer Center, Historic Preservation Commission, RSVP program, Jaycees, and the Iowa Mentor Partnership, as well as several local, regional and national boards and committees for Kiwanis International. Erica Ostroski is the Director of Special Events for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City where her team is responsible for planning and executing all major fundraisers and friendraisers for the agency. She has been involved with BBBSKC as a Bowl for Kids’ Sake Team Captain since 2004 and has truly enjoyed her time as a Big Sister and employee since 2008. Erica has appreciated various accolades throughout her years of involvement with BBBSKC such as Kansas City’s Big Sister of the Year, Excellence in Volunteer Management Award, Top Multi-Day Fundraising Event and Top Fundraising Golf Tournament in Kansas City, to name a few. Dr. Christian Rummell has over 20 years of experience as a researcher, training and technical assistance provider, and practitioner in the youth mentoring field—with specific expertise on mentoring LGBTQ youth. Currently, Dr. Rummell is a Senior Researcher at American Institutes for Research (AIR). At AIR, Dr. Rummell co-authored a report on LGBTQ youth in the juvenile justice system and also studied the approach of cross-sector collaborations to prevent LGBTQ youth homelessness. Previously, Dr. Rummell was a dissertation research scholar at Portland State where he conducted one of the nation’s first studies that examined mentoring for gay youth.

Edith Sanchez Cruz is the Program Manager for Community Initiatives. Edith began her career at BBBS in 2008 and ascended to the role of Program Manager having had the benefit of prior experience serving in several key programmatic roles within the agency including: Match Support Specialist and Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist. In her previous role, Edith was responsible for client, community and corporate stakeholder interactions including rapport building, volunteer recruitment and resource engagement. In this role, she designed and implemented county-wide agency recruitment activities, directed a team of 3 recruitment specialists; including community-based events, workplace information sessions and small group/individual engagement opportunities. One of her biggest successes was developing and launching the recruitment campaign-The Big Challenge: 100 Bigs in 100 days. While building rapport with current Bigs, Board Members, Staff and Community leaders, 160 new people learned about the importance of becoming a Big and overall obtained a 5% increase to the Inquiry to Interview yield rate. Given her great relationship building skills, Edith was transitioned to oversee new initiatives such as Ayana Chaldean Mentoring, Big Futures and soon, Bigs in Blue, to name a few. Edith holds a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University San Marcos and is committed to creating opportunities for youth through her volunteerism for CAPS- a faith based pregnancy clinic and as a volunteer for Evolution Soccer Academy.

Henry Sandles began his golf career as an assistant golf professional at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. During his 26 year tenure he coached Women’s NCAA Division I Golf and went on to become the Director of Golf at the University of New Mexico’s two Championship Golf Courses.

Henry began his career with The First Tee in 2001 as a Development Director where he was focused on working with nonprofit organizations to develop chapters of The First Tee. He was responsible for chapter and facility development management. Angie Scott has served as Associate Director of Child Safety for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America since June, 2015. Working in partnership with the Vice President of Child Safety, Scott supports the research and advancement of effective child protection strategies across Big Brothers Big Sisters’ nationwide network of affiliated agencies.  Before coming to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Scott provided direct service to children and families for four years through BBBS in the Tampa Bay region.  She has experience working with child and adult sexual assault and trauma survivors, and has received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Advocacy Core Training through the Florida Council of Against Sexual Violence.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Bill Stanczykiewicz serves as director of The Fund Raising School and as a senior lecturer in philanthropic studies for the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Bill developed nationally-recognized expertise in nonprofit leadership and management, including fundraising, while serving for 17 years as President & CEO of the Indiana Youth Institute – a statewide nonprofit delivering responsive professional development and relevant data on children and youth to educators, youth workers, government officials and the media. Under Bill’s leadership, IYI’s fundraising increased significantly while becoming highly diversified, and IYI’s impact and success were cited by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and by the Indiana Achievement Award. Prior to leading IYI, Bill served in the public sector, first as a legislative aid to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Children and Families and then as the Policy Director for Community Renewal, a cabinet-level position in the Office of the Mayor in Indianapolis where the initiative he designed and implemented was cited as a best practice by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additional public administration responsibilities have included serving on Indiana’s Education Roundtable, the State Workforce Innovation Council, the Employ Indy regional workforce board and as an elected member of his local public school board. Bill’s professional career started as a radio sportscaster, and he was honored as the “Indiana Sportscaster of the Year.” His media skills continue to be utilized in his current leadership duties, including appearances on ABC’sGood Morning Americaand ESPN as well as through numerous newspaper op-eds and radio and television interviews across Indiana. Other personal awards include being named a “Sagamore of the Wabash,” the highest honor bestowed by the Governor of Indiana on civic leaders. Bill also was recognized as a “Next Generation Leader” by the Rockefeller Foundation, listed in “Who’s Who in Education” by the Indianapolis Business Journal and named a “Friend of Education” by the Indiana State Teachers Association. Bill’s statewide and community volunteer service has included serving on leadership committees associated with the NCAA Final Four and the Super Bowl. Bill also served on the board of an inner-city youth organization, co-chaired a successful capital campaign for his religious congregation, coached youth sports and served on the board of his local community foundation. Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, a master’s degree in public administration (with a concentration in nonprofit management) from George Mason University and a post-graduate credential in executive leadership from Vanderbilt University. His fundraising skills were sharpened through courses offered by The Fund Raising School, and he serves as an adjunct faculty member at Purdue University. Andrea Stelzl is currently the AIM Support Analyst at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, but has been with the BBBS network professionally since 2011. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UW – La Crosse where she originally became a Big Sister, she served in AmeriCorps at a Wisconsin BBBS host site. Andrea then provided direct service while working at that same affiliate as an Enrollment/Match Support Specialist prior to joining the national team in 2015.

While Andrea’s main focus is working with the AIM system, you will also find her in the Agency Resource Center and guiding non-AIM agencies through their conversions.

Kirsten Thompson

Ms. Thompson has a MA and BS in anthropology, with a background including collections research and quantitative and qualitative research methods. For the past seven years at PIRE, she has worked in the coordination, implementation, and project management of evaluation and intervention activities on the topics of youth access to harmful legal products, prescription drug abuse, substance abuse, and alcohol abuse. She has also helped design and implement evaluations on youth mentoring, rural access to healthcare education, rural access to continued education credits, rural access to shelter for homeless teen mothers, and oral health interventions with intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals. Ms. Thompson has also helped to culturally adapt instruments, training content, and intervention programs for areas as diverse as rural Tennessee and Pennsylvania, inner-city Louisville, frontier Alaska, and Afghanistan. She has extensive experience with conducting focus groups, and key community member and stakeholder interviews. She has worked with BBBS Kentuckiana on numerous OJJDP funded studies and the facilitation of focus groups utilized in the development of new lines of research. She also worked with BBBS America in 2014 writing a white paper on the growing field of Intergenerational (IG) mentoring, including the development of a theory of change based on literature and best practices.

Susan Totty has been Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg – Rockingham County since 2011. Prior to joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, Susan served as the State Program Director for the Smart Start early childhood initiative in North Carolina. Susan holds a B.A and M.A. in Education from the University of Northern Colorado and has over 25 years experience as a teacher and non-profit director. Her career has been focused on developing and directing services that impact vulnerable children and families.

Hanh Tran

Hanh joins iMentor with experience in communications, consulting and non-profit program management. Formerly, Hanh worked at the Morgan Stanley Foundation where she created communications aimed at increasing the visibility of philanthropic initiatives. She has also worked in community outreach at New York Cares to expand volunteer opportunities in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Hanh has an interest in social entrepreneurship and previously served as a Kiva Fellow in Vietnam where she used video to share stories about women entrepreneurs. She has worked with refugee communities through WomenCraft, a social enterprise in Tanzania that connects rural artisans with international fair-trade markets. Hanh believes that all youth have the potential to succeed if given adequate opportunity and support and is thrilled to contribute to iMentor’s efforts to serve more students through mentoring. Hanh received her M.P.A. from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and her B.A. in journalism and marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Nichole Turgeon

Nichole Turgeon began her career with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands in 2005 as Development Director. As Development Director, Nichole worked with the CEO and Board of Directors to substantially grow the resources available to Big Brothers Big Sisters to serve children facing adversity. During her tenure as Development Director the agency’s revenue more than doubled leading the way for growth in program size and quality. Nichole’s success in transforming Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands’ finances as well as her strategic thinking as a member of the agency’s leadership team led to her identification as an agency leader. Nichole has served as CEO since 2011.

Nichole has been recognized as a 2010 Ten Outstanding Young Omahans by the Omaha Jaycees and was a 2011 recipient of the 40 Under 40 Award of the Midlands Business Journal. She serves on the nationwide Fund Development Committee and HR and Leadership Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) and is the Co-Chair of the Mid Large Agency Alliance.

Nichole presented on the topic of Nonprofit Leadership Succession at the Association of Fundraising Professionals International Conference in 2015 and the topic of Employee Engagement at the Mentor Summit in 2017.

Nichole received her BBA in Marketing Resource Management from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington and attended Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Nichole received her MA in Philanthropy & Development from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota. Nichole is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).

Stan Waddell

Stan Waddell began working with underprivileged children and youth in 1986, and specifically children, youth, and their families in the foster care system in 1993. He has worked in numerous church settings, in multiple settings as a therapist, and has managed a number of Child Placement Agencies in Texas and New Mexico.Most recently in 2008, Stan began working for Cenpatico in both a clinical and training capacity. Stan has a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Master of Religious Education, both from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Stan is licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. He is married to Connie and has two kids Beth and Spencer.

Lynne West

Lynne West is the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County. She started a dedicated Foster Mentoring Program at her agency in 1999 in collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools Office as a way to increase the graduation rates of foster youth. As a Big Sister to a former foster youth, she has witnessed first- hand the difference a mentor can make in the life of a child and by so doing the changes it has brought to her own life.

Lynne served on the National Leadership Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, is a past president of the California State Association of Big Brothers Big Sisters and currently sits on the Ventura County Children’s Oversight Committee. She is a certified trainer for other mentoring organizations and serves on numerous committees in Ventura County.

Donnevin Wolfe
Community Development Coordinator (CDC)
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana

Donnevin Wolfe currently serves as the Community Development Coordinator (CDC) of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana (BBBSNEI). Donnevin is a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College, Northeast Indiana, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in human services, and he is on track to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice and a Master’s Degree in psychology from Trine University. Donnevin previously worked as a case manager for SCAN, Inc. in Fort Wayne, a leading organization in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. While transitioning into the role of Community Development Coordinator at BBBSNEI, Donnevin joined and strengthened our minority reengagement campaign. His short tenure with BBBS has already had significant impact, and he was instrumental in the success of our recent minority recruitment campaign, which matched 50 Littles with 50 Bigs in 50 days.

In addition to his prior position with SCAN, Donnevin also worked as a Group Home Trainer for Benchmark Human Services, which serves individuals with disabilities, and as an addictions group facilitator, sponsor, and direct program intern at the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne. Donnevin has a substantial history of service to disadvantaged and at risk populations.

Donnevin has been matched in a successful one-to-one mentorship with his Little Brother, Maurice, for four years. Donnevin understands the importance of having a male mentor since he was once a Little Brother himself. Donnevin fulfills his aspirations and shares his caring personality by being involved in the community any way he can. Wolfe also loves spending time with his cat Ace. He has a very big heart for having such a small pet.
